Attention Florida Massage Therapists! There are new requirements for you to renew your license by the deadline of August 31, 2009. Continue reading to learn what is required this renewal period... Renew your Florida Massage Therapy License before August 31, 2009 by attending the following: 24 total hours of CEUs from Florida Board of Massage Therapy approved CEU Providers. *If you are completing your first renewal, you must complete 1 hour of continuing education for each month of licensure. At least 12 of these hours must be relevant to and focus on massage therapy techniques and must be taken in-class. 2 hours must be an approved course in Medical Errors. 2 hours must be an approved course in Professional Ethics. 2 hours must be an approved course in Florida Laws and Rules. You must also take a refresher course in HIV/AIDS. This course does not count toward the 24 hour requirement. New licensees are not required to complete the 2 hours Ethics and the 2 Hour Florida Law requirement.
