Cortiva Institute operates two New Jersey massage therapy schools on campuses in Piscataway and Wall Township. Since 1987, we have provided high standards of professional excellence in massage therapy education, employing multiple teaching techniques, because we know every student has a unique approach to learning on their way to certification. Our massage classes in New Jersey cover three disciplines of training: Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, Massage Therapy and Practice, and Professional Development.

Professional Massage Therapy Programs We offer a massage therapy program that prepares students to start working as a confident, professional massage therapists. Continuing Education Our continuing education courses are offered to all massage therapists who want to enhance their education. Cortiva Institute – Somerset School of Massage Therapy in New Jersey ("Cortiva") has been raising the standards of massage therapy education one student at a time. We believe that a combination of science and technique alone isn't enough. Through a comprehensive approach to massage therapy training – one that involves both science and spirit – we prepare our graduates for practice in many different settings.

Our curriculum is grounded in scientific foundations and inspirational, real-life experiences. These lessons create passionate massage therapy professionals. You'll benefit from a combination of hands-on classroom instruction, clinic work and community outreach. After graduation, we'll continue to support you with ongoing learning opportunities through continuing education, lectures and workshops.

Our Massage Therapy Diploma Program is a holistic, hands-on approach to massage. You'll be challenged and inspired to create your own unique career path, whether you're working in a hospital, clinic, spa, health club or your own private practice. Training at our New Jersey Massage Schools cover three main areas of study:

Massage Therapy and Practice
You will receive instruction on fundamental techniques in a classroom setting and practice them in a supervised and supportive environment. We also provide training in body mechanics and self-care so that you can enjoy a long and healthy career. Additionally, working in the Student Clinic and in our Community Outreach program will further prepare you to interact with clients.

Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology
Coursework in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology provides a solid foundation in understanding the structure, function and health of the human body. You will have the opportunity to learn proper medical terminology and apply the knowledge in "hands-on" classroom experiences.

Professional Development
This coursework involves business basics necessary to succeed as a professional. We help students define goals and target markets for a successful practice. With exercises in goal setting, writing a resume, creating a business plan, marketing, advertising and self-management, students walk away with tools necessary to establish their own practice or apply for jobs upon graduation.
