As part of its celebration of National Massage Therapy Awareness Week, Cortiva Institute – Tucson is hosting a Career Fair and Trade Show on Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 1-3 p.m. at its campus located at 6390 East Broadway Blvd.
The massage therapy field is growing. In fact, employment for massage therapists is expected to increase 20 percent through 2016, faster than average for all occupations, according to the 2009-2010 U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Outlook Handbook.
The event is open to current students and alumni of Cortiva Institute, with over 20 local employers and service providers expected to attend. Among the employers who have confirmed attendance are RUBS, Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door Spa, Massage Envy, Spa One and Peaceful Spirits Therapeutic Massage & Wellness.
In addition, vendors and industry resources will be on hand, including Clearview Business Solutions (tax and booking services), Simmons Laundry & Linen Services, City of Tucson Business License Division, American Massage Therapy Association (professional liability and support organization), Tucson Federal Credit Union and A Rich Experience (spa services).
Attendees will have an opportunity to discuss immediate openings, inquire about application processes, and learn about the overall businesses, services, and products offered by a company. In addition, students and alumni may network with industry vendors, financial and business consultants, gather information on state and city licensing, continuing education and networking opportunities. Refreshments, door prizes and giveaways will also be offered.
Cortiva Career Services provides students with assistance throughout the year to enhance employment opportunities, including workshops on preparing resumes and cover letters, as well as on-campus recruiting and events like this career fair.
