Cortiva graduate Sara performed a massage on co-host Ann Lauricello live while Jeanette and Deanna discussed the benefits of receiving massage therapy, careers in the massage industry, the Cortiva curriculum, and a special offer for Morning Blend viewers. Someone recently referred to massage as a niche-  after meditating on that comment, I ask, why that perception?  There is plenty of research  that shows the benefits. In fact if you Google “Benefits of Massage”  over  1.7 million articles appear and many from prestigious neutral sources . Experience and research shows that receiving regular massage can have a significant positive benefit on health. http://articles.cnn.com/2007-03-08/health/healthmag.massage_1_massage-therapist-touch-research-institute-tiffany-field/2?_s=PM:HEALTH.   So, is massage a niche?  I believe, No! Its an under utilized facet of well-being.  An art and science that can benefit all. Sometimes we forget in the technology flood, that it does not have to be complicated to be effective. I  see the excitement every day, when our students  witness, while practicing their newly learned skill in the student clinics, the benefits of massage!
