Cortiva Institute - Seattle has been educating massage practitioners for
over 30 years, with faculty members who have a combined 200 years of experience
in the bodywork industry. Our curriculum goes well beyond state and national
standards. It's designed to integrate and layer subjects so that learning
is held - in your hands, in your head, and in your heart. In this way,
our approach creates a multi-faceted, dynamic learning environment. Weaving
it all together are the instructors. Passionate about sharing what they
know and helping you grow, the talented faculty bring the curriculum to
life. They are accomplished, inspirational, and committed as instructors

This is fabulous time of growth for massage therapists. The US Dept of
Labor estimates that employment opportunities for massage therapists are
expected to increase 20 to 35 percent by the year 2012. Cortiva Institute
- Seattle graduates are sought after among local employers and many have
found employment in places such as spa and wellness centers, chiropractic
clinics, yoga studios, salons, hospitals and research programs, and in
sports settings. Others choose to begin their own independently-owned
practice. In Washington State, massage therapists are licensed as health
care providers and are therefore eligible to enroll as practitioners in
many health care plans. This is a tremendous advantage for massage therapists
as it positions us within the continuum of healthcare and the spa and
wellness industry.
