There are quite a lot of schools listed when you search for massage schools Chicago has to offer. You can never be too sure of what you are going to get unless you are allowed to experience it firsthand. I called a few of these schools and asked, when can I come in and see your school and be allowed to sit in on some classes?
One of the schools merely gave me the date of their next open house. Another school offered to have an admissions representative call me back at their earliest convenience. A third school said that they offered classroom sit ins on special dates only in order to not disturb the students, and then the final school suggested that I should come in the very next day if it was possible.
I liked the way that particular massage school Chicago had replied the best. After all, I am paying for a service and I should at least be able to know what I am going to get before I have to sign on the dotted line. I wouldn’t purchase a car if I wasn’t able to test drive it.
So the very next day I took the train into the city and went to the massage school that sounded the most welcoming to me. I was greeted by a student that had volunteered to take me with her to all of her classes throughout the day so I could see firsthand what a typical day at this school would be like for myself. First, we went and sat in on her anatomy class. I was very impressed by the teacher and interested in the subject matter.
The next class that we went to was a business class that taught the students about the different options that were available for employment after they had attained their certificate. I thought that this class would be especially helpful and it was a great way to explore these different job options.
Finally, we went to a massage techniques class that gave me the chance to see first hand what I would be doing every day if I choose this as a career. The student from the massage school Chicago contained was very helpful and informative. Being able to follow her around for the day and talk with her about the school had me not only convinced that this would be the right profession for me, but that I had also found the perfect school.
