Association Presents Cortiva Graduate with GREAT Award

Washington, DC, Mar 08, 2011 -

The Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities (APSCU) today is awarding its highest graduate achievement honor to Olubukola "Buki" Papillon of Somerville, Massachusetts.
Papillon is among five graduates of APSCU institutions scheduled to receive the honor during a ceremony on Capitol Hill. The Graduate Recognition for Excellence, Achievement and Talent (GREAT) Award recognizes former students who have demonstrated outstanding academic and personal achievement.
Olubukola "Buki" Papillon, 41, is a graduate of the Cortiva Institute in Watertown, Massachusetts.

A native of Ibadan, Nigeria, Buki attended a rigorous military school during her youth. After graduating at age 16, she attended the University of Kos, in Karduna, Nigeria, where she received a degree in English literature. Buki also attended the University of Hull, in England, where she earned a graduate degree in International Business Law and Lesley College, Cambridge, MA, where she earned a Master of Fine Arts in fiction writing. While studying in Cambridge, Buki also became interested in massage therapy; when she completed her MFA, she enrolled at Cortiva Institute near Boston.

Her goal, she says, was to be able to work in a field that "helps people feel better, and to assist people in knowing how to live longer, healthier lives." She received a certificate in massage therapy in January 2010, and is a Professional Massage Therapist at Massage Therapy Works, in Somerville, Mass., and at Balanced Health, in Boston, Mass.

The Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities is a voluntary membership organization of accredited, private postsecondary schools, institutes, colleges and universities that provide career-specific educational programs.
