“The school environment is very warm; it is personal and professional without being clinical. People here are very committed and passionate. This comes across when you walk in the door. The school walls are covered with pictures of graduating classes. It is a tradition that every graduating class presents the school with a gift, which are typically pictures, group pictures or artwork.
Every graduating class leaves a bit of themselves in the school. When you walk through the school, you see all these faces and people say: 'I know that person.' It gives you a sense of history when you are in the school. You see smiling faces and that gives you confidence and purpose when you are here.
The real value is in the people that are here.They havepassion and commitment. Each class has its own personality. Everyone becomes very close. This happens when you touch another human being. There is a real bond that forms. There is a sense of community, family and camaraderie here at Cortiva. There is a bond that is almost visible. There is a sense of continuity and history that is very comforting to people. Being in a school that has been doing one thing for 25 years brings richness and depth that is nurturing.
The faculty members are exceptional. There is an amazing richness and depth to their experience and what they can share. They are humble people. There is no bravado; they are not egotistical. They are inspiring role models for every student. Everything that is taught here is integral to becoming a massage therapist. Everything that you experience in each one of your classes is meaningful.

As an organization our intention is to produce competent healthcare professionals who use massage as a way to treat other human beings and other life forms as well. Massage is life changing on both sides. For the therapist, it provides an opportunity to make a difference in the world and for the person getting a massage, their life changes as their body changes. For every change you make in one individual it changes their interaction, it is like a ripple effect, like throwing a pebble in a pond. You can work on one person and take their pain away, readjust how they sit and stand, which changes their life and the lives of everyone around them. I believe we provide our students with roots and wings. Our roots, as we discussed yesterday, go very deep. The education we provide grounds our students and when they complete their education here, they are able to soar because of the education they have gotten and the network of which they are a part. That network includes their classmates, schoolmates, and instructors, as well as our career and alumni services.”
