Cortiva Institute - Seattle

“I am a certified athletic trainer and licensed massage therapist, which allows me to bring deeper and richer perspective to my teaching. The role of a certified athletic trainer is to assess injuries and chronic pain complaints, treat the condition using a wide variety of modalities, and return the individual to full activity via a focused rehabilitation process.

As a massage therapist, I'm able to fully integrate an essential modality, soft tissue therapy into this process, and I believe I'm both a better athletic trainer and massage therapist with this dual perspective. Cortiva has developed and adopted a national standard of education that is based on the best practices of the educators and therapists in the field.

The combined experience of the people in the Cortiva family represents 30-40 years in massage therapy and other allied healthcare professions. We have a broad perspective and understanding of healthcare in general as well as the history of development of massage in particular, enabling us to have a strong following. Being a graduate of Cortiva eases the way and helps open doors for you. If you move from one area of the country to another, the Cortiva standard is recognized and held in high regard. Smaller independent schools do not have that recognition and they cannot open as many doors for their graduates.”
